A "Rally for Retirement" on Capitol Hill

ARLINGTON, VAThe American Retirement Association is coordinating a march on Capitol Hill in support of the nation’s private retirement system Oct. 20, in conjunction with the 2015 ASPPA Annual Conference.

The biennial “Rally for Retirement” was created to provide an opportunity for ASPPA members to interact with and brief top congressional leaders about the importance and future of the nation’s workplace retirement plans. ASPPA, a member association of the American Retirement Association, has nearly 10,000 members nationwide and includes individuals engaged in the provision of services relating to plan administration, compliance, plan design and actuarial consulting, as well as those providing legal, recordkeeping and vendor services/products to support the traditional retirement services community. Approximately 1,500 ASPPA members are expected at this year’s conference.

“The nation’s employment-based retirement system has provided an essential element of retirement income security for millions of Americans,” noted Brian Graff, CEO of the American Retirement Association. “American workers with access to a workplace retirement plan are 15 times more likely to have saved for retirement. As we head into an election year, it’s more important than ever that the nation’s lawmakers appreciate the perspective and experience of ASPPA’s membership, many of which are business owners and leaders in communities across America.”

Registration for the 2015 ASPPA Annual Conference and Rally for Retirement is still open.
